is that more than likely, your head is warped... so you'll either need to replace the head entirely, or have it shaved, and get a thicker head gasket to compensate. The JDM engines can be a gamble as Dave said... but I've experienced both circumstances... replaced my engine with a JDM, and I've also done a head gasket replacement on another Z and had to deal with the head issues... I ended up simply buying a used set for the guy. It really comes down to money... if you can afford to rebuild it, then rebuild it. If you can't, it might be a little cheaper to simply drop in a JDM motor, but if you do that, be sure you have proper maintenance performed and make sure the engine condition was verified prior to purchase (compression, leak down, and check the color on the oil, etc).
